Art Institutes – Love Em or Leave Em?

I’ve heard time and again, people who spent the money to go to an expensive, prestigious art institute, have lived to regret it. Sure they probably got some good out of it, but more often than not the art school they choose never really gets them where they thought it would. Of course nobody knows this until after the fact, and hindsight is 20-20 as they say.Countless starry-eyed aspiring artists graduate from high school, all fired up to attend a big name art university, or maybe a school of music. Inevitably, relatives come out of the woodwork to tell them what a mistake it is to pursue their art education, and that going to art school will be a waste of their talent, etc. etc. Of course who listens to their relatives at that stage of their life? Certainly not I! All we want to do is get away from our parents, brothers & sisters, or whomever else is constantly telling us what to do (or not do) with our life. Heading off to art school has to be a whole lot more fun than staying home, that’s for certain! At the end of the day however, the art institute you choose to pour your heart and soul into, probably doesn’t much care about you the individual. If they change policies that cut classes you planned to take, well that’s just too bad. Or if they change their fee structure and suddenly you can’t afford it the way you thought… also too bad. The university staff certainly aren’t going to make up for your losses out of their pockets! These specialty art schools [http://lasertargeted.com/artinstitute/digital-art-schools.html] are in business to make money, like any other company. Once they have your money in their coffers, your art education is not exactly a top priority. Yes there may be a few excellent teachers who seem to really care about how you do, but their influence is extremely limited at best, and pointless at worst. Ultimately, you’re likely to primarily learn a few of life’s harder lessons. Self reliance, don’t trust too much, life is hard… those will be your mantras throughout your art institute stay. But then again, everyone always comes away with a few memories, from a few events, that ultimately help to shape them into the person they are for the rest of their life. So maybe going to art school is not entirely without merit – but it’s an expensive way to “find yourself” that’s for sure!

Clothing Labels – What Is It?

If somebody dealt in the clothing business, they must be doing a very noble job. This is because clothing is one of the basic necessities of life. The clothing of today is far from basic. The concept of clothing as to why to wear clothes has changed drastically.Earlier when clothes were worn more for protection now they are worn more for the looks than for the protection. It has more of an aesthetic value than the utility value. For that matter all the basic needs are now more about aesthetics than utility, food and shelter included. The competition in all three of them is neck to neck regards the brand. Now what you eat, wear and where you live talks a lot about who you are.Apart from hoe your house looks, where it located is the identity of both you and your house. Ditto food what and from where you eat says a lot about what kind of food it is as also what kind of a person you are. So also what kind of clothes you wear, from where they are, says a lot about the clothes and the person you are. The brands of the clothes are let known more in the literal form by the clothing labels. They are the identification marks of a clothing line.Initially the identification was done by writing the initials of the company with launderer’s ink. Then the initials or the logo of the company was embroidered on the clothing. Then came the clothing labels with the company’s name which were attached to the clothing. The labels served the purpose of both identity and advertisement. If clothing was bought that fitted perfectly then the brand can be found out from the clothing label.Company’s logo, size of the attire can be mentioned on the label. It then kind of becomes convenient. Initially the clothing labels were attached to only main outer clothes. Now considering the competition in the inner ware, the labels are put even on the inner ware. Handkerchief and socks are the only clothing probably that have no clothing labels. From the baby’s clothes to the papa’s suit all have labels. From swim wear, inner garments to the aprons all have labels.Usually the label is attached on the insides of the clothing so that it will not be easily visible. Some funky t-shirts do have labels on the outside as well for something to be flaunted. As the clothing wear comes directly in contact with the body parts, it needs to be made from the organic material. Or made from the material that is non allergic and non irritating. The common materials used for labels are the cotton, hosiery, taffeta, damask and at times leather and also steel.Usually the labels are attached on the inside along the seams. For upper body wear they are near the neck seam. For lower body wear they are attached near the waist line seam. For some clothing like the jeans, dungarees, pants the labels can be put on the outside which meant to flaunt the brand.
